How To Effectively Manage A Heavy Workload
The advice I need to give myself more often — and you might need to, too.
Numerous deadlines are approaching and more keep getting added — and I am struggling.
We’re all busy and enter period where the piles seem to reach a peak. That is the mountain I am climbing, and I’m not sure the summit is in sight.
Navigating this journey, I’m sorting through what’s working and what’s not to learn and grow — and, hopefully, break the cycle of taking on too much that hits this point, again.
Yesterday, I said “no” to work that seemed like a logical step in a process — running through a team presentation.
I said, “no” because we have done our homework, each member should know their role and it’s not going to make an impact on the final product because the same two people are being asked to step up.
I am not stepping down, I am stepping aside to share the responsibility and allow others to be equally accountable.
Saying “no” truly is one of the best piece of advice to managing a burdensome workload.
